Welcome to “Hope is not a strategy”

Welcome to Hope is not a strategy!

The blog is a collection of thoughts, ideas, issues (and complaints)
concerning investment markets. It is written by me (& my guest bloggers) for
anyone interested in investing, markets, and the economy.

Throughout the week we are exposed to a staggering level of information
written by many people with vested interests, axes to grind, conflicts of
interest, something to sell or push or just having to say something because
there’re paid to do so…most of what we hear today is full of emotion…designed to get our attention…

How do you make sense of it all…..how do you keep your sanity….how do
you arrive at common sense strategies to navigate through the financial markets?

I have found that clear thinking is one of the keys to surviving investment
markets in the long term.

And so this blog is one avenue to collect thoughts and ideas, assess their worth and apply them to today’s investment scene…(rather than just hope)

It is also a forum to express what we are worried about…..and we are worried about things all the time!!!!!

My clients pay me to worry about what can go wrong, how to keep them
from losing capital and how to meet their retirement objectives…etc…

Finally, we wish to create an environment where like-minded people
can scrutinize the current stream of so-called “financial information” and highlight the utter rubbish we are often fed on a daily basis….

I hope you will join me on this journey…..
